Christmas is right around the corner, and I don't know about you, but I always have a really hard time finding gifts for my husband so here are a few ideas of things my husband uses all the time and loves that I know a lot of men would really like that might work for the man in your life too. Some of these things are specific to Husbands or fathers so keep that in mind when reading this list however most of these will work well for any man. Now on to the gift ideas!
1) 11 in 1 screwdriver
My husband uses this screwdriver every day at work since he is an HVAC technician, but I think this would still be a great tool for any handy man or even as one to keep for work around the house.
2) Genuine leather personalized wallet
I think any man would like this beautiful, personalized leather wallet and if your husband is like mine, he has gone through one about every 2 years so this is frequently a good gift option. This one from Etsy has a lot of personalization options including pictures and has high ratings. It is also made from genuine leather by a guy in Houston Texas so it will be good quality.
3) A sturdy belt
This is another one of those things that I've noticed men tend to go through fairly quickly so a nice looking and heavy duty one is a good option. One my husband seems to like is the Kore belt.
4) 5 senses gift
This type of gift is a 5-part gift that touches on each or the 5 sense so something for sight, sound, touch, taste and smell. I'll give a list of ideas for each.
- Sight: Lingerie, a framed picture of you together or your family or a photo album or book, take him to watch a sunset (you can do this from the warmth of your car if you live somewhere cold like I do), movie tickets, or tickets to a live show (if you can afford to travel or live in the Lancaster PA area sight and sound is an amazing performance and I highly recommend going at least once in your life time), safety glasses or blue light glasses (depending on the type of guy you have).
- Sound: A speaker, a blue tooth, headphones/ear buds, concert tickets, audiobooks or audible/amazon
prime credits, I believe you can even gift a one-year subscription which will give them a certain number of credits for free for the year, music lessons, music or audiobook subscription, a record player (or if he already has one some more records), power tools.
- Touch: Clothing, a blanket, gloves, lotion, slippers, a massage, a bathrobe, a massager, a back scratcher, a phone case with a nice texture (I personally love the feeling of matte things but he might be into something with bumps or lines or a glossy finish), a watch, hot hands for hands and feet (these are perfect for hunting season), stress ball or .some sort of fidget object.
- Taste: His favorite snack, something made from scratch (cookies or other sweets are always a good idea), mints or gum, breakfast in bed, a gift card to his favorite restaurant, his favorite drink, grilling seasonings or marinades, beef jerky or meat sticks, his favorite energy drink.
- Smell: Cologne, beard balm or oil, air fresheners for his car, massage oil, Manley scented soap, his favorite scented candle, deodorizer balls for his shoes, shaving cream, after shave, essential oils and a diffuser (to make this gift even more meaningful think about some things that might be specific to him, for example if he's always tired get him an orange oil or some other scents that are supposed to help with energy or if he is stressed or has trouble sleeping, get him some calming lavender or chamomile oils).
5) A date
This is always a hit, orchestrate a baby sitter on a specific day and plan a date doing something he will enjoy, try something a little less common like going to the shooting range, paint ball, laser tag, a trip to the Lego museum, an overnight in a hotel, dinner and movie, dinner and a Christmas light display (bring some hot chocolate in a travel mug would be extra fun), roller skating, ice skating or curling, rock climbing, go see a sporting event, or bowling are some great ideas.
6) Socks and underwear
There are some really fun options for these some brands offer things like a pizza box of socks that might be cool or if your man is like my husband, he will be happy with the plan white socks and Hanes boxers from Walmart just as long as he doesn't have to wear the ones with holes anymore. You can also add undershirts if your man where's these often like mine.
7) Homemade coupons
My husband made me coupons where he would do a task or something like that for me that he knew I really didn't want to do and give me a one-time break.
Here are some ideas to add to them:
- One undisturbed nap
- We eat your favorite meal for dinner.
- You get the evening to do ~insert favorite hobby~
- We get to have sex tonight.
- I do one of your usual "chores" (this could make multiple if there are several tasks your husband is typically responsible for around the home)
- 1 free back/foot massage
- I clean your car.
- I clean your office/man cave.
- I wear whatever you want me to for the day.
- You pick my sleep wear.
- You get ____ of alone time.
8) Milwaukee battery operated shop vac
My husband loves this, he was dying it for a while and my family, and I got it for him for his birthday and Father's Day (his birthday is in June), and he was just ecstatic about it. If the man you're getting this for will be using it for heavy duty stuff I'd recommend the M18 otherwise the M12 works great.
9) Beard grooming kit
When my husband is getting ready for church or nice and dressed up for a date or something like that, he will use the beard balm and brush from this kit I got him a while back. It helped him figure out what he likes to use for his beard and if you know someone who is trying to figure that out this is great. You could also just get him some of his favorite products that he is already using if he has an established beard care routine in place.
10) Thin but warm gloves
My husband always likes a good pair of thin gloves that still keep his hands warm. As a tradesman he needs his hands to still be functional in the winter as well as warm to something that doesn't have a lot of padding and allows you to still use at least the majority of your fingers is always a good option.
11) Grill utensils
These are usually a good idea too; you could make it a whole themed gift if you throw in some grilling seasonings or sauces/marinades with it as well. You can also get grill spatulas that are personalized with things like the logo of his favorite sports team and things like that. This set comes with a beautiful wooden storage box to protect them and keep them clean when they're not in use.
12) Something you made with your Children
A personalized gift that you have made with your kids will always bring a smile to his face, some ideas are:
- A picture frame where you paint your hands and put the handprints on the glass.
- A mug with cute phrases about being a dad.
- A shirt you wrote on or tie-dye.
- A special blanket for his comfy chair (tie fleece blankets are really easy to do and would be a great practice opportunity if you're teaching any of your children how to tie their shoes)
- Those cement paving stone things where people usually put their handprints in them, and they add gems and other fun things to them.
- A card
- A painting
- Baked goods
- A scrap book or collage of pictures
13) Dash Cam and appropriately sized SD card
My husband really enjoyed having one although his has since broken and needs to be replaced, there are so many handy times to have one of these and could save him a lot of hassle in the event of something like a car accident. This Dash cam comes with an SD card and has a camera for in the rear as well.
14) Cigarette lighter lunch warmer
My husband has one of these and loves it! When he was working as a residential HVAC technician, he rarely had an appropriate place he could reheat a lunch so with our this he would be eating cold lunches every day, but this greatly expanded his options for lunches at work. This is the one he has, and it has worked really well over the last couple years he has had it but has also been eyeing this one because it has a lot more features to it.
15) High quality crescent wrench (one where the jaws don't wiggle at all)
Having a good quality crescent wrench is just really nice to have around the house but it's especially handy if the man you're shopping for is a tradesman or simply just a handy man. To know if it's good quality, grab the piece that moves when you twist the adjuster if it wiggles side to side, it's not a good one but if it's stiff it's good.
16) Carabineer
This might seem like a weird one, but these are really awesome to put your keys on and then clip to your belt loop to always know where your keys are. I used one for about a year when I was a housekeeping coordinator and my husband started using one around the same time and they're really awesome.
17) Carabineer bit holder
This is nice to keep all his driver bits organized so he always knows where there are, it can easily be clipped onto his tool bag, bucket handle or toolbox to keep them from disappearing so he always knows where they are I think this is probably a really helpful tool for any tradesmen.
I hope this list gave you some good ideas of what to get the men in your life for Christmas this year and especially your husbands and things that won't clutter up yours or their houses.
